Cultural Heritage Day: Sunday, September 7, from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Free entry for everyone!

On Sunday, September 7, from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Hardanger Folk Museum will host an open house. There will be plenty happening both inside the museum and out in the open air museum, with a program for both adults and children.

Activities you can join in:

  • Wood carving

  • Making pyrografic decorations

  • Making beaded bracelets

  • Pressing apple juice

  • Folk dancing

  • Making candles

  • Drawing with chalk

Program in the Main Hall:

  • 11:30 AM“Utne – from a lively cluster farm to a peaceful museum site” – lecture by Anne Lise Brask Eriksen about the museum buildings

  • 12:00 – 2:00 PM – Join in making woodburned decorations

  • 12:15 – 12:45 PM – Family folk dance with Vegard Hansen and dancers from Voss

  • 1:15 – 1:45 PM – Family folk dance with Vegard Hansen and dancers from Voss

  • 2:00 PM“Decorations on wood” – Agnete Sivertsen talks about the exhibition

Also don’t miss:

  • Flea market

  • Pizza baked in the old firehouse oven

  • Freshly baked milk cakes

  • Handmade candy

  • A visit to the café

Cultural Heritage Day is organized by Hardanger Folk Museum in collaboration with Folgefonn Husflidslag, Grimo Bygdekvinnelag, Solgull 4H, and Hardingfela.no.
