Concert with Vegard Hansen and Ragna Valde Sletten
The duo performs newly composed music, traditional music, and Baroque music from Norway. Their repertoire ranges from round dances and village dances to listening tunes.
In November, the album I stugun was released, featuring Vegard Hansen on accordion and Ragna Valde Sletten on fiddle. The album blends newly composed music, traditional music, and Baroque music from Norway. The repertoire spans from round dances and village dances to listening tunes. “The goal of this duo is to create a recognizable expression found in our arrangements, compositions, and playing styles. With a diverse repertoire, the music can reach a broader audience.”
Producer Vegar Vårdal on I stugun:
“The interplay between fiddle and accordion is not new, but Ragna and Vegard have taken it to places I have never heard before. This dialogue has pushed boundaries while preserving the essence of tradition. It is a listening and respectful interplay, yielding great results through an ongoing, positive musical dialogue.”
The concerts at Hardanger Folk Museum are organized in collaboration with the Hardanger Folk Music Collection and supported by the Norwegian Arts Council.
